JFS kicks off year-long celebration with 50 Acts of Kindness

Jewish Family Service is celebrating 50 years of service to the Lehigh Valley Community with 50 Acts of Kindness. The celebration started with four events in January. The Temple Beth El Religious school kicked off the celebration with a Cozy Toes program. The students collected new socks to give to the Sixth Street Shelter. They also heard presentations about JFS, the Kindness Project, Sixth Street Shelter, and the Jewish traditional value of chesed.

Other programs in the month included collecting and distributing a community resource guide to the Muslim Community and helping deliver meals through Mazel Meals and Shop Gap to those who are unable to leave their homes.

February is Dental Hygiene Month. During this time, we are collecting dental hygiene products to give to local organizations.

The 50 Acts of Kindness Project continues through December 2022. To help, contact Stuart Horowitz at kindness@jfslv.org.
