CHEERS FOR VOLUNTEERS

Thank you to our caring community for helping JFS honor exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond for Jewish Family Service and the greater Lehigh Valley Jewish community. Your support of Cheers for Volunteers will enhance the programs and services JFS provides and help ensure that no one in our community should suffer hunger, isolation, abandonment, emotional or physical distress, or lack of community support and caring.

MEET THE HONOREES

Whether it’s about helping vulnerable individuals, promoting education or addressing other societal issues, volunteering is rewarding and allows me to participate in the positive changes I would like to happen in our community. Care, share and pass it on!
Volunteering to me means doing the right thing by assisting organizations that improve the welfare of others.

I volunteer at JFS because I enjoy working with people and it is very rewarding. The staff and volunteers are warm and friendly and we have the same goals: to assist people however we can.

I especially admire JFS’s ongoing commitment to serve ALL people, of all types, sorts and abilities. JFS meets people right where they are at, and helps to ease their way. I’m proud to be part of the Accessibility and Inclusion Committee, that helps communities remove barriers and learn best practices for supporting their members.
I am honored to be part of a wonderful group of volunteers who help Jewish Family Service provide so much to the Jewish community of the Lehigh Valley.

Volunteering is a personal journey of giving back. I find profound fulfillment in volunteering with JFS and in collaboration with the Chabad program C-teen, which brings the joy of community service to teens. JFS is the perfect avenue for Lehigh Valley teens to experience the essence of tikkun olam in a fun and meaningful way.

Giving back and being active in the community through JFS is meaningful to me. I like doing nice things for others. I hope I can make even just a small impact on someone’s day and let them know they aren’t alone and they are special.

Volunteering gives meaning and purpose to my life and JFS provides opportunities for fulfilling Torah lessons: “open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor” and “respect older adults.”  I learned about volunteering from my parents and grandparents and hope to serve as a model for my children and grandchildren.
I volunteer at JFS because I think they are providing a much-needed service with their community food pantry. Volunteering does the heart good knowing you are doing even a small part in helping others.

In my role on the Clinical Committee at JFS, I know that my professional skills are benefiting the community exponentially through the work of the mental health providers at JFS.

I find great fulfillment and satisfaction with my volunteer involvement. I have experienced firsthand the positive impact JFS achieves with the people it serves. Contributing my time and skills allows me to engage with the community and contribute to positive outcomes.
JFS gives me the opportunity to put a smile on people’s faces. Whether baking cookies, making blankets or delivering meals and flowers, I believe that by volunteering, I can make a difference in the lives of others in our community.

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
